Hope in the city

In Berlin, the worlds of people from more than 180 nations come together. Most of these people do not yet know the saving power of the risen Christ. We want to see the Gospel change the lives of many Berliners and people living in Berlin - because Jesus offers hope, freedom and true life.

Come join us in Berlin for 5 days over Easter!

Maybe this will be your first short-term mission – you will be in good hands, surrounded by fellow-believers, receiving training, praying together for the outreach, and going out on the streets together to share God`s love.

We are expecting more than 200 participants to be there, experiencing the works of God first-hand. Will YOU be one of them?

Why Berlin?

Berlin is full of immigrants from the Middle East, many of whom unfortunately think that because the old traditional churches are usually empty, that the Christian faith must be dying. In cooperation with various fellowships in Berlin, especially Turkish and Arabic speaking fellowships, we aim to glorify God by joyfully demonstrating that faith in Jesus is alive and well, that the Holy Spirit works in power in today's Berlin, and that peoples from every tribe and tongue are finding forgiveness and joy and eternal life in the risen Christ.

Outreach Description

During our five days in Berlin we want to take you into the Easter story. Everything we want to share on the street must first catch fire within us. Together we will look at the passion of Jesus and celebrate the victory over sin, death and the devil. This freedom we have gained through Jesus Christ is to be made known to all people. We will train you in evangelism, offer workshops to help you grow in different areas, and experience spiritual fellowship and growth in small groups.

Prayer for Berlin

Pray for:

Pray that God would raise up more believers to serve either full-time, part-time or on a volunteer basis among the Muslim immigrants of Berlin, especially in Neukölln.

Pray for long-term solutions for young immigrants who want to believe in Jesus but have difficulties with getting settled and beginning productive lives here.

Pray for a spiritual breakthrough for Christ among the Turkish-speakers of Europe, similar to what we've seen among Iranians.

FAQ

Where will we be sleeping?

All of us will be accommodated in the 3 Little Pigs Hostel. You will be sleeping in shared rooms (with the same gender) with up to eight people. We have rooms for 4, 6 and 8 people.

What is involved in the cost?

The cost includes accommodation, food, all literature and materials for the outreach, and a conference fee. Your local OM office will add a small admin fee. This depends on the country you are coming from. You will need to buy your own transport tickets within Berlin: €36 for a week ticket (if you are there for the full five days) or a day ticket for each day that you attend for €8,80 per day.

How do I register?

You can register through our Registration Form with some basic information. We will forward your registration to your local OM office. They will then take care of the rest, such as any legal necessities in your current country of residence. In some countries this might take more time, as you might have to go through some screening. A day guest registration will follow, although we would be happy if you could be there the whole time.

Which meals are involved?

All meals – breakfast, lunch, dinner - will be provided from the evening meal on the 6th through to breakfast on the 10th.

Where do I have to get to?

We will send you a detailed description several weeks before the outreach. Please try to be in Berlin by 4pm on the 6th.

What about Covid?

The local Covid-19 regulation will be implemented. We will continue to monitor the situation and reserve the right to cancel the outreach. . If the outreach is cancelled from our side, the participants will not be charged with any costs.

Do I have to bring bed linen/towels?

The hostel is proving bedding. You just need to bring your own towels. Bedding is also covered in the costs.

What are we going to do?

We are going to share God's love together on the streets, particularly in areas of the city where there is a large immigrant community. We will have fellowship with one another in small groups and prayer and worship sessions. We will receive evangelism training before we go out onto the streets.

Which language do I need to speak?

The program from stage will be held in english and german. There are also options for translation into Arabic, Farsi and Turkish.

I do not need accommodation in Berlin. Can I still join during the day?

Do I need to get a Visa?

Please check this with your local OM office. They can help and support you in this matter.
