In 2011, OM took on responsibility for a local church’s puppet ministry that team members had previously helped with. Since then, the OM puppet team has performed Gospel-centred shows for thousands of children during the Christmas and Easter seasons, travelling to public schools, kindergartens, churches, women’s shelters, and special needs homes. The team also performs non-seasonal shows at church events or summer camps upon request.
Each Christmas and Easter, the puppet team learns a new show that serves as a framework for the biblical story to be shared. After each performance, the children in the audience each receive a CD containing the audio puppet story and more Bible messages as well as an activity booklet so they can continue to experience the message of the show.
“A parent shared with me that last year’s CD had been listened to so many times that it was really worn out because the kids loved the story so much,” says Ilona Csernus, the Hungarian leader of the OM puppet team.
Would you like to help children hear the Gospel in a fun and interactive way? Short-term helpers are welcome to join in the puppet outreach, as no knowledge of Hungarian is required. Email info.hu@om.org to learn more.

“What do you leave behind when you leave this earth – a legacy of love or a legacy of hatred?” OM Arts leader and American musician Bill Drake shares his powerful testimony through his rock band’s concert tour around Hungary every summer.
Delivered by Jesus from his past of abuse, loss, and near suicide, Bill is passionate about sharing the Gospel through the arts. Since 2008, the Bill Drake Band has performed nearly 100 concerts in Hungary in churches, cultural centers, prisons, drug rehab centres, refugee centres, and special needs homes. Visual arts and dance add to the worship experience of the concerts.
Do you have a passion for sharing the Gospel through music, dance, or audio/visual arts? Contact info.hu@om.org to learn how you can get involved.
