Science texts, dictionaries and atlases are essential resources for any educational establishment. Thus, in countries of particular need, crew organise donations of literature that will bless communities long after the ship has sailed from port.
In the past this has included gifts of books to assist a government literacy campaign in the Caribbean nation of St. Vincent and to restock community libraries in Sri Lanka destroyed by the December 2004 tsunami.
Such acts show God's love and guarantee the ship's literature is made available to every section of society.
